Just Completed! Island Paradise in Georgia!
This project completed an
already fabulous sun deck atop a boathouse, adding functional
architectural detail and seaside privacy. With input of a team
consisting of the homeowner, their architect, local builder and our
company, we constructed this “Charleston” or Bahama-style shutter
application to achieve greater architectural interest and some
privacy--while maintaining light penetration.
The shutters were handmade with 2 ½-inch louver blades and painted
in a custom color to match the millwork on the existing boathouse
and private home. The shutters were hung using our custom header,
special hinges and copper capping, and the addition of telescoping
shutter stays will make it easy for our customer to adjust the
shutter openings to their preferences or to the seasons. We also
provided the customer with custom closures for winterizing their
shutters.
